DURAFIBER® Ag PRO Dressing is a sterile, non-woven gelling fibre dressing composed of cellulose ethyl sulphonate fibres, designed to manage moderately to highly exuding wounds while helping to reduce the risk of topical infection through sustained antimicrobial activity.
On contact with wound fluid, the dressing rapidly forms a soft, conformable gel that absorbs and locks away exudate while maintaining a moist wound environment to support healing and autolytic debridement. This gelling action allows the dressing to contour closely to the wound bed, minimising dead space where exudate and bacteria may accumulate and helping to reduce the risk of maceration.
The integrated silver content provides broad-spectrum antimicrobial activity against a wide range of wound pathogens, including MRSA, helping to control bioburden and support infection management.
At the same time, the dressing retains high tensile strength when saturated, enabling efficient one-piece removal with minimal disruption to the wound bed.
Key Features & Benefits:
Advanced exudate management
Highly absorbent structure absorbs and retains large volumes of exudate (up to 15x its weight), helping to reduce leakage and maintain an optimal moist wound environment.
Gelling fibre technology
Transforms into a soft gel upon contact with wound fluid, supporting autolytic debridement and conforming closely to the wound bed.
Sustained antimicrobial activity
Contains silver to provide broad-spectrum antimicrobial action, helping to reduce the risk of infection and manage wound bioburden.
Minimises pain and trauma on removal
Gel formation reduces adherence to the wound bed, helping to minimise pain and tissue trauma during dressing changes.
Contours to wound bed
Closely conforms to wound surfaces and cavities, reducing dead space and supporting effective exudate management.
One-piece removal
High wet strength enables removal in a single piece, improving ease of use and reducing risk of retained fibres.
